gaudino

Line drawing

Gaudino – spinning frame. An older spinning frame. The mill also had newer frames, linked to a roving roping 🙂 delivery system – the roving spun (by machine, with people helping the machinery out when roving was a bit thin in places and broke, and needed piecing back together, while the machine is running – sort of a ballet of hand and yarn mid-air), and then the spindles of spun yarn, were doffed, and off in a row along a moving conveyor-way to get woven.
