On frames for paintings – at some point I thought a lot about frames – their benefits, and detractions.
The painting below was framed in a frame found at a frame shop, which, turned, allowed the painting to have its edge visible, and still have a frame:
Below, some frames without rabbets (not rabbits – I like rabbits – and maybe rabbets also, although they obscure the very edge of a painting, and therefore markings, and color put down).
